Job Description
REMUNERATION: R495 300 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE:
Supervise Data Capture staff and GIS Operator staff as well as co-ordinate the capturing of water and sewer infrastructure into the GIS database. Provide training and support to all Johannesburg Water GIS users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the daily tasks and activities of the data capture and GIS operator staff. Assign workload to data capture staff and GIS operators. Develop and manage data capturing processes and procedures. Ensure as-built information is available to subordinates. Supervise the collection of information at inception and implementation phases of GIS projects. Implement standard operating procedures and processes for the section. Ensure that the database is maintained. Ensure the integrity of data before posting to the database. Provide training and support on the use of the GIS. Perform administrative and general duties to promote productivity and service delivery. Liaise and consult with internal departments. Compile scheduled reports and statistics for senior management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- National Diploma in (GIS) or equivalent NQF Level 6
- Minimum of (3) years’ experience in GIS environment with a sound understanding of GIS and database management
- Understanding of water and sewer infrastructure
- Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience
